1. About Tech Buddies

Tech Buddies helps students and young professionals in South Africa find tech events and, if they choose, connect with others attending the same event. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Platform guidelines

  • Provide accurate profile information and keep only one account.
  • You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
  • Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, scams or impersonation.
  • No collecting other users' details for marketing, recruitment or any purpose they did not agree to.
  • Do not try to bypass privacy settings, blocks or security controls.

4. Networking etiquette

Tech Buddies is for networking and going to events together — not dating. Respect a declined request, a disconnection or a block. Meet in public at the event venue and tell someone you trust where you are going. Report anyone who makes you feel unsafe.

5. Event submissions

When you submit an event, link or flyer, you confirm it is a genuine, publicly advertised event and that you may share it. We may edit, verify, decline or remove submissions.

6. Third-party events and tickets

Events are run by independent organisers. Registration, tickets and payments happen on the organiser's own website. We do not sell tickets and are not responsible for event changes, cancellations, refunds, safety at venues or third-party websites. Always confirm details with the organiser.

7. Account suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from events, other users or third-party websites. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
